Lutron HomeWorks: Whole-Home Lighting and Shading for Larger Homes
HomeWorks is Lutron's most comprehensive lighting control system, built for large homes and estates. Here's what it does and who it's for.
Lutron makes lighting control at several levels, from simple smart dimmers to full-home systems. HomeWorks sits at the top. It's designed for large homes and estates where dozens of lighting circuits, motorized shades and tunable Ketra fixtures all need to work together from a handful of clean keypads.
What HomeWorks controls
- Lighting, from recessed and cove lighting to chandeliers and picture lights, grouped into scenes
- Motorized shades and drapery, on the same keypads and schedules as the lights
- Ketra tunable lighting, integrated natively, so color temperature is part of every scene
- Sensors and schedules, so lights and shades respond to time of day, sunrise and sunset, or occupancy
Why it suits larger homes
HomeWorks is built to scale. The current generation combines wired devices, wireless devices and Ketra lighting in one system, which matters in a large home where some rooms are wired during construction and others are added later. Everything is programmed together, so one button can set a whole floor.
Keypads that fit the design
HomeWorks keypads, including Lutron's Palladiom line, come in a range of metal, matte and glass finishes and can be engraved with your own scene names. In our projects you'll find bronze keypads on grasscloth, black keypads on oak slats, and buttons named for how the family lives: Day, Evening, Entertain, Wine, Yoga, Goodnight.
How it fits with Savant or Crestron
HomeWorks handles lighting and shading; Savant or Crestron ties it to the rest of the house, including audio, video, climate and security. You get Lutron's lighting control with one app and one set of controls for everything else. See how the control platforms compare.
Is HomeWorks right for your home?
For a large new build or a full renovation, usually yes. For a smaller project or a few rooms, a simpler Lutron system may be all you need. We're a Lutron Diamond Elite dealer and will recommend the system that fits the home, not the most expensive one.
