MERIDIAN AUDIO
Great sound is alive and well with Meridian’s new CLASS-M DSP engine. It's featured in two new products which have high SPL (sound pressure levels) and strong bass performance. The CLASS-M DSP engine has an aux filter that improves low-frequency resolution and has built-in dynamic bass protection to maximize bass extension throughout your home.
The DSP640.2 and DSP520.2 In-Wall Loudspeaker models, showcased at the Barco Residential booth at CEDIA 2019, can discreetly pack an audio punch in the walls of your Texas home and are perfect for any living room or home cinema room. Both models integrate Meridian’s DYNAMIC Hi-Res amplifiers and are driven by high bandwidth ultra-HD amps for guaranteed performance. Both have a mounting depth requirement of only 100mm, so they’re ready for easy installation and positioning, plus the grill can be painted to blend with any décor.
The DSP640.2 won a 2019 Best New Hardware Product Award.
STEALTH ACOUSTICS
One of our favorite brands, Stealth Acoustics, partnered with Harman to debut the new JBL Conceal Series Invisible Loudspeakers. These high-powered loudspeakers are architectural and designed to fit covertly in the walls of your Bellaire-area home. Great audio can be heard but not seen with this solution coming out in early 2020.
These are great for anyone looking to avoid speaker clutter in their interior design aesthetic. Stealth Acoustic’s transducer implementation is utilized in a rigid compression-molded baffle outfitted with seventh-generation Fidelity Glass acoustic paneling. The speaker installs like a drywall patch and can be painted or custom finished to match the wall.
BEYOND AUDIO
Besides high-end audio, some of our favorite home automation brands also shined at this year’s CEDIA Expo. The home automation control system power-brand, Control4, won the New Software Product Category with their new OS 3 operating system upgrade.
Lutron’s RadioRA 2 product was inducted into the 2019 Product Hall of Fame. While they were busy winning awards, Lutron also unveiled the HomeWorks QSX processor, which brings HomeWorks QS wired, wireless, and Ketra products into one easy to install and control system. LED+ dimming technology was introduced as well, and it works on two-or three-wire solutions to shatter the hassles of typical retrofitting. In the Maestro dimmer, LED+ controls 250W LED, 500W incandescent, halogen or ELV. Lutron was at the top of their game at CEDIA 2019.
